3 Minute Monday
Hi friend,
I’m thinking about intention & execution today.
The world doesn’t care about your intention, only your execution.

This is a truth I wish I’d known 10 years ago.
In a very real sense you ARE what you do.
The way you behave, the things you create, the actions you take.
The relationships you build, and break.
These executions are all that the world has to go on in working out who you are.
No one except you has a window into your mind.
All they can see is how you manifest that mind into reality.
The world genuinely only cares about what you DO.
Your intentions may be great.
You may lovingly think about your friends/wife/the environment a lot.
Your mouth may make all the right noises to reinforce this belief.
But if you’re standoffish/a cheat/still not recycling – your intentions mean sweet FA.
I’ve met so many people over the years who always talk a great game, but when it the time comes to actually make something happen, they never execute.
If that sounds like one of your friends, then change them or bin them immediately.
Always talking and never executing gives people the satisfaction of having achieved a lot, without having to actually do anything.
They will drag you down into a ruminative pit with them.
If this sounds like you, all is not lost.
Focus on optimising for action, not thought.
When you have an idea, think about the precise next physical action that would move you toward completing that goal, and do it.
Celebrate your ideas for how they can improve the outer world, not just your inner world.
Intention only matters if you execute on it.

THINGS I’VE LEARNED
1.
A lack of support killed more dreams than a lack of competence ever did.

2.
The Origin Of Clinking Glasses
It originated in the medieval days when wine was often spiked with poison as the sediment concealed it quite well.
If a host wanted to prove that the wine wasn’t poisoned, he would pour part of the guest’s wine into his glass and drink it first.
If the guest trusted his host he would just clink glasses when the host offered his glass for a sample.
Hence the clinking of glasses has become a sign of trust, honesty and toast to good health.
3.
Leaving Laurel crush it.
Leaving Laurel are a deep, progressive house duo from America.
Their Live From The Living Room mix is nothing short of magnificent.
Chilled, ethereal, melodic, beautiful.
Perfect music to work to.
LIFE HACK
Only Have 2 Children.
According to a friend with 3 children, it’s easily an extra 5x harder.
3 children requires a new type of car, different seating in restaurants, causes problems at theme parks, with bedroom arrangements, in hotels and more.
I’m not advocating for a China-style policy.
But at least upgrade the car before child 3 arrives.
Big love,
